Good nutrition is the foundation of health and a high quality of life. At the Baltijos Amerikos Clinic, dietetics services are provided by experienced professionals who can help you optimise your diet, resolve nutrition-related health issues, and achieve a healthy body weight.

Our reception department is open 24/7. A clinic staff member will contact you the day before your scheduled appointment to inform you of the exact arrival time. Scheduled patient appointments take place on weekdays from 8 am to 9 pm.

Dietitian team for your health

The dietitians working at our clinic have completed specialised studies in the field of nutrition and dietetics, and continuously update their knowledge at international courses and conferences. At the Baltijos Amerikos Clinic, we always apply evidence-based nutritional principles, which we adapt to the individual needs of each patient.

Dietitians work in a team with other clinic specialists – endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, and cardiologists – to ensure comprehensive healthcare for you.

When is a dietitian consultation needed?

A dietitian’s support is particularly valuable when:

  • You want to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight
  • You have been diagnosed with high cholesterol or triglycerides
  • You are living with diabetes
  • You suffer from digestive issues (acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation)
  • You have diagnosed food allergies or intolerances
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You are active in sports and want to optimise your nutrition for better performance
  • You are preparing for or recovering from surgery

Up to 80% of chronic conditions are linked to nutrition, making professional dietitian consultations an essential part of treatment.

Dietetics services

Initial comprehensive consultation

During the first visit:

  • Your dietary habits and health history are discussed in detail
  • Available test results are analysed
  • A body composition analysis is performed
  • Individual nutritional goals are established
  • Initial recommendations are provided
  • If necessary, additional tests are prescribed

Body composition analysis using the Tanita device

This non-invasive test provides a comprehensive picture of your body composition within a few minutes:

  • Accurately measures body fat, muscle mass, and water content in the body
  • Determines the basal metabolic rate (BMR) – the number of calories the body uses at rest
  • Shows the level of visceral fat (especially important for assessing disease risk)
  • Determines the Body Mass Index (BMI) and biological age

The results allow for accurate monitoring of changes when modifying diet and physical activity.

Preparation of individualised nutritional recommendations

Based on the consultation and test data, the following are prepared:

  • General dietary guidelines tailored specifically to your health and needs
  • Lists of recommended foods and foods to avoid
  • Portion size recommendations
  • Practical tips on how to implement changes in daily life

Creation of a 7-day individualised meal plan

A comprehensive meal plan including:

  • A daily menu, including main meals and snacks
  • Balanced recipes
  • Ingredient quantities and nutritional values
  • Simple cooking instructions suitable for busy people
  • Alternatives to popular dishes

Plans are created in Lithuanian or English, depending on patient needs.

A holistic approach to nutrition

At the Baltijos Amerikos Clinic, we view nutrition as the foundation of health and apply a holistic approach:

  • Individuality – we take into account that each person’s body and needs are unique
  • Sustainability – we offer long-term nutritional plans, avoiding “miracle” quick fixes
  • Enjoyment – we believe that healthy eating is fully compatible with good taste
  • Consistency – we encourage a step-by-step change in dietary habits leading to long-term results

Integration of dietetics and medical specialities

At our clinic, dietitians are an integral part of the team:

  • With endocrinologists, we collaborate in treating diabetes, thyroid disorders, and other hormonal issues
  • With gastroenterologists, we develop comprehensive solutions for treating digestive diseases
  • With cardiologists, we apply preventive and therapeutic nutritional programmes for patients with heart disease

Endocrinologists perform laboratory tests to evaluate hormone status and metabolism, while dietitians adapt nutritional strategies based on this data for optimal results.

  • Achieved results and changes are evaluated
  • Challenges are addressed
  • The meal plan is adjusted to meet new needs
