On 27 August 2024, Vilnius City Municipality Administration signed an agreement for Project No. 09-022-P-0048, “Modernisation of the infrastructure required to provide healthcare services at Antakalnis Health Centre”, co-funded by European Union structural funds. The project promoter is Vilnius City Municipality Administration, and the administering authority is the Central Project Management Agency.
Funding is allocated to the project under the 2021–2027 European Union Funds Development Programme progress measure No. 11-002-02-11-01 “To improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services”, financed by the 2021–2027 European Union funds and the state budget of the Republic of Lithuania.
The project budget sets the maximum eligible expenditure at EUR 2,087,251.51, of which: European Union funds – EUR 1,043,625.76, co-financing – EUR 1,043,625.75.
Project objective – to increase the quality and accessibility of healthcare services provided within Antakalnis Health Centre for the residents of Vilnius City Municipality
The main issue addressed by the project is the insufficient accessibility of healthcare services and the lack of high-quality equipment and premises adapted for service development.
Project activities:
– Modernisation of the infrastructure required to provide primary outpatient healthcare services at Antakalnis Health Centre. Medical and other equipment will be purchased, and refurbishment of the premises will be carried out.
– Modernisation of the infrastructure required to provide secondary care outpatient specialised healthcare, outpatient surgery, and day surgery services at Antakalnis Health Centre. Medical and other equipment will be purchased.
Project target group: residents of Vilnius City Municipality, healthcare professionals, and other specialists working in the healthcare sector.
Planned outcomes: During the implementation of the project, the infrastructure for general practice (family medicine), primary dental care, secondary care outpatient cardiology, ophthalmology, ENT (otorhinolaryngology), obstetrics and gynaecology, radiology (diagnostic X-ray), physical medicine and rehabilitation physician services, outpatient surgery, and day surgery services allocated to the health centre will be modernised. It is expected that the newly created and/or improved statutory compliant infrastructure for healthcare services allocated to the health centre will be used by more than 120,000 patients registered with the collaborating institutions of Antakalnis Health Centre.
